Renewable Energy

CLEAN, RELIABLE ENERGY FOR RURAL COMMUNITIES

Access to energy is essential for daily life, farming, water access, and community development.
In many rural areas, families still rely on diesel, charcoal, and firewood — fuels that are expensive, polluting, and harmful to the environment.

Our aim is to expand renewable energy solutions that support dairy production, farming, and clean water access across rural and coastal Mozambique.

We have already deployed solar systems for dairy and farm operations, and solar-powered water access in two communities.
With investment, we can scale these solutions and introduce new renewable technologies.

SOLAR FOR DAIRY FARM OPERATIONS

SOLAR FOR DAIRY & FARM OPERATIONS

Solar energy supports daily agricultural activities by providing:

  • reliable power for dairy production
  • lighting for farm operations
  • reduced dependence on diesel generators
  • lower operational costs for rural farmers

Solar systems help farmers work more efficiently while reducing emissions.

SOLAR FOR CLEAN WATER ACCESS

We have successfully installed solar-powered water systems in two rural communities.

These systems provide:

  • clean water for families
  • irrigation for crops
  • water for livestock
  • reduced manual labour for women and youth
  • year‑round water security

Solar water access improves health, agriculture, and community resilience.

BIOGAS (Planned)

Biogas is a natural next step for our dairy and agricultural ecosystem.

With investment, we plan to introduce biogas systems that will:

  • convert livestock waste into clean cooking fuel
  • reduce charcoal and firewood use
  • produce organic fertiliser
  • lower household energy costs

Biogas creates a circular, climate‑positive system for rural families.

ENERGY FOR NATURE BASED PROJECTS (Planned)

Renewable energy can support our nature‑based projects by powering:

  • biodiversity monitoring
  • agroforestry operations
  • fish farming systems
  • community conservation activities

With funding, we will integrate solar into these activities to reduce emissions and improve efficiency.

FUTURE OPPORTUNITY: COASTAL WIND ENERGY

Mozambique’s coastline has strong wind potential.

We have not yet deployed wind systems due to the high upfront investment required, but we are exploring small‑scale coastal wind solutions that can complement our solar installations.

With the right funding, hybrid solar‑wind systems could:

  • expand clean energy access
  • support productive agriculture
  • improve reliability in coastal communities

Wind energy is a natural future step for our renewable energy pillar.
